data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"520\"><em>What should we celebrate next?<\/em><\/h3><p data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"571\">At first, it can feel like an odd place to start.\u00a0\u00a0Most leadership conversations tend to focus on what\u2019s next on the agenda\u2026 what\u2019s behind schedule\u2026 or what needs attention right now. Those are important discussions. They drive execution. You\u2019re identifying something worth moving toward\u2014something visible, something shared.\u00a0\u00a0In many cases, leaders assume their teams understand this.\u00a0\u00a0But do they?<\/p><p data-start=\"2006\" data-end=\"2072\">What is the next meaningful milestone your team is working toward?\u00a0\u00a0And just as important\u2026 do they know it?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ea86a3a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ea86a3a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 data-start=\"2120\" data-end=\"2169\">Next Question&#8230;<\/h2><p data-start=\"2120\" data-end=\"2169\">There\u2019s a second question that naturally follows.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"2171\" data-end=\"2193\"><em>How will we celebrate?<\/em><\/h3><p data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2349\">Because not all celebrations are about the event itself. In many cases, it\u2019s not about the celebration at all. It\u2019s about what the celebration represents.\u00a0\u00a0Progress. Contribution. Momentum.\u00a0\u00a0A sense that what we\u2019re doing matters.<\/p><p data-start=\"2426\" data-end=\"2537\">It depends on the team. It depends on the culture. And it certainly depends on what you\u2019re trying to reinforce.\u00a0\u00a0But the act of defining something worth celebrating\u2014and doing it in advance\u2014has a way of aligning effort in a very different way.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d6522ef e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"d6522ef\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7dc613b e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"7dc613b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ee40514 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ee40514\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"2675\" data-end=\"2775\">I once challenged a CEO\u00a0 client to ponder possibilities and what might be their next achievement worth celebrating.\u00a0 On my next visit to his office, I noticed he had written the question on his whiteboard.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><h4 data-start=\"2777\" data-end=\"2807\"><em>What should we celebrate next?<\/em><\/h4><p data-start=\"2809\" data-end=\"2869\">He had left space beneath it. Not for results, but for ideas.<\/p><p data-start=\"2871\" data-end=\"2942\">What stood out wasn\u2019t the question itself. It was the intent behind it.<\/p><p data-start=\"2944\" data-end=\"3042\">He wasn\u2019t waiting to recognize success after the fact. He was inviting his team to help define it.<\/p><p data-start=\"3044\" data-end=\"3064\">That changes things.<\/p><p data-start=\"3066\" data-end=\"3251\">Because <b>people want to feel part of something bigger than themselves<\/b>. They want to know that their effort is contributing to something that has meaning beyond the task in front of them.<\/p><p data-start=\"3253\" data-end=\"3312\">And when that connection is clear, something else shows up:\u00a0 discretionary effort<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bbfb3dc e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"bbfb3dc\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e3108c4 elementor-widget performance.\u00a0 You can manage activity.\u00a0 And in many cases, that will get you what you need in the short term.\u00a0 But just because you can drive results that way doesn\u2019t mean you should.\u00a0 Because when people see where they\u2019re going\u2014and they believe it matters\u2014they tend to bring a different level of energy to the work.<\/p><h3>Food for Thought<\/h3><p>If the idea of being an \u201cinspirational leader\u201d doesn\u2019t feel natural to you\u2026 what if it\u2019s simpler than that?\u00a0 What if it\u2019s less about style\u2026 and more about intention?\u00a0 What if, occasionally, putting on the \u201ccheerleader\u2019s hat\u201d isn\u2019t about enthusiasm\u2026 but about clarity?<\/p><ul><li>Clarity on what matters.<\/li><li>What progress looks like<\/li><li>What\u2019s worth celebrating<\/li><\/ul><h3>Your Next Inspiring Agenda<\/h3><p>What are the agenda items your team is working through right now?\u00a0 Which of those actually represent meaningful progress?\u00a0 \u00a0Which of those are worth celebrating?\u00a0 \u00a0 And have you made that visible?<\/p><p>If your team were to achieve something meaningful this week, month or quarter\u2026<\/p><p>Would it feel like a shared win?\u00a0 Or just another box checked on the way to the next task?<\/p><p>If you\u2019re looking to inspire your team\u2014not just manage it\u2014this might be a place to start.<\/p><p>What should you be celebrating next?\u00a0 And how might you engage your team in getting there?\u00a0 Because in the end, inspiration isn\u2019t created by personality.<br \/>It\u2019s created when people see that what they\u2019re working on matters\u2026 and that they\u2019re part of making it
