developer who created a &#8216;pilot&#8217; podcast episode based on a <a href=\"https:\/\/chicagoexecutivecoaching.com\/smartleadership\/the-power-of-connection\/\">recent blog post<\/a>. It was a deeper dive discussion between me (my cloned voice) and an artificial partner.\u00a0 I was impressed with the content and the speed of the content production.\u00a0 So, I agreed to try this automated approach to content development and create several initial episodes.\u00a0 My developer believed in the importance of publishing numerous episodes quickly for building a following.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p><h4>Fast is Slow and Slow is Fast<\/h4><p>The developer went to work and quickly produced and published five podcasts.\u00a0 I shared with people who know me.\u00a0 They objected to the voice clone.\u00a0 It resembled my voice but was obviously fake.\u00a0 As I listened and reviewed the content of each, I discovered phrases that I would <strong><em>never<\/em> <\/strong>say.\u00a0 These were corrected and republished.\u00a0 A reminder that\u00a0<strong><em>Haste Makes Waste.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>Three more episodes were generated.\u00a0<\/p><p>In the process, the developer created and published podcast content without offering me an opportunity to edit.\u00a0<\/p><h4>Yellow Flag or Red Flag?<\/h4><p>I believe that <strong>integrity<\/strong> and <strong>authenticity<\/strong> are critical components of our personal brands.\u00a0 In the absence of these, what are we really achieving?\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5d0362b e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"5d0362b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a111e10 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a111e10\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>What&#8217;s Wrong with this Audio Picture?<\/h4><p>The source of the first podcast episode was based on my post, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/chicagoexecutivecoaching.com\/smartleadership\/the-power-of-connection\/\"><strong>The Power of\u00a0 Connection<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 \u00a0It discussed the importance of <em>High Touch Leadership<\/em>. I believe that the podcast content has real value.\u00a0 BUT, I believe that <em><strong>authenticity<\/strong><\/em> is an essential leadership trait. When listening to my artificial voice engaged in an artificial discussion, an ethical alarm went off.\u00a0<\/p><p>I know that my audience for Leadership Breakthroughs appreciates <strong><em>brevity<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Most posts can be read in 3 minutes or less. In many ways, it can improve efficiency, accelerate research, organize ideas, and even help us communicate more clearly. I use it myself. You are reading this post on a blog where AI has become part of my own learning process.<\/p><p data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"928\">But leadership communication is not merely the transfer of information. It is the transfer of intent, belief, trust, judgment, and humanity.\u00a0 That is where the line between artificial and authentic begins to matter.<\/p><p data-start=\"1005\" data-end=\"1342\">As leaders, we now face communication decisions that previous generations never had to consider. Just because technology allows us to automate something does not automatically mean we should. At what point does convenience begin to erode credibility? When does polished become artificial? When does efficiency begin replacing connection?<\/p><p data-start=\"1344\" data-end=\"1376\">And perhaps the bigger question:<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1378\" data-end=\"1467\"><em>Will people feel more influenced by leaders who sound perfect\u2026 or leaders who sound real?<\/em><\/h4><p data-start=\"1469\" data-end=\"1675\">I believe the future leadership advantage may <strong><em>not<\/em> <\/strong>belong to those who use the most AI. From a growth perspective, I understood the logic. More content. More frequency. More visibility.<\/p><p>But I decided to <em>press the pause button<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Not because I believe Artificial Intelligence has no value. Quite the opposite. I believe these tools can accelerate idea development, increase efficiency, and create opportunities that did not exist even a year ago.\u00a0 What concerned me was something different.\u00a0\u00a0I was beginning to sense a gap between content production and authentic representation. The \u201cmore is more\u201d approach felt inconsistent with the personal brand and leadership philosophy I have spent over two decades building. I was also unclear on the true return on investment. Was this creating meaningful influence\u2026 or simply creating more content?\u00a0 Those are not the same thing.<\/p><p>If those concerns can be resolved thoughtfully, I would consider revisiting the project. Some of those tools will create enormous value.
