<em>all<\/em> have <strong><em>opinions<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 And, we <em>all<\/em> like to think of ourselves as <strong><em>open minded<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 How often do you hear anyone admit to being <strong><em>closed minded<\/em><\/strong>?\u00a0 Perhaps not in those words.\u00a0 What about admitting to <strong><em>stubbornness?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Some stubborn folks might admit to this trait while <em>others stubbornly<\/em> deny their relentless inflexibility.\r\n\r\nThe fair answer to the Opinionated vs. Open-Minded question is <strong>YES<\/strong>!\u00a0 We need to practice both: in <em>moderation<\/em>.\u00a0 The more important question is:\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How do you prevent your strong opinions from becoming limiting blind an Attitude?<\/h3>\r\nHere again the answer is <strong>YES<\/strong>.\u00a0 In order to develop your skills for listening and accepting new possibilities, you need to both practice and be aware that your opinions and even your emotions could be holding you back.\u00a0 Who wants to discover they&#8217;re wrong about something?\r\n\r\nOne of the strongest human needs is <strong><em>The Need to Be Right<\/em><\/strong>.\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8220;Faced with the choice between changing one&#8217;s mind and proving that there is no need to do so, almost everyone gets busy on the proof.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>&#8211; Galbraith<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n\r\nHow can you be better than <em>almost everyone<\/em> else? How much of your busy time do you spend trying to prove you&#8217;re right?\r\n\r\nIf you want to be truly open to <strong>new possibilities<\/strong>, you must be able to ask yourself:\u00a0 Have I been <em>wrong<\/em> about that?\u00a0 Then give yourself permission to say YES.
