How\u00a0effectively do\u00a0you choose\u00a0the best approach for the situation at hand?\r\n\r\nHow time sensitive is your\u00a0need to act? \u00a0When time is of the essence, a\u00a0direct approach can\u00a0be the best choice. \u00a0When winning the war is more important than winning any one battle, influencing is more effective. \u00a0Leaders typically choose their approach intuitively without thinking about the choice.\r\n<h2>Influencing and Persuasion: Are These Skills or\u00a0Behaviors?<\/h2>\r\nThe answer is yes. \u00a0They fall into both categories. You will be more aware of how you choose between the two. And\u00a0you will discover\u00a0a\u00a0valuable leadership\u00a0growth\u00a0opportunity.\r\n<h3>Behavior Style Awareness<\/h3>\r\nAre you more task orientated or people orientated? \u00a0Your style preference\u00a0will effect your tendency to choose either persuading\u00a0or\u00a0influencing.\u00a0\u00a0Leaders with <strong>strong task orientation<\/strong> are more inclined to choose a direct <strong>persuading<\/strong> approach. Will it be your hammer or your screw driver? \u00a0Just because it&#8217;s your favorite tool, doesn&#8217;t make it the right choice.
