applauding audience of peers. It was earned recognition for a professional achievement.\u00a0 I received a document suitable for framing (below) and am now a <strong>Certified Business Coach<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nI suppose I wouldn&#8217;t be sharing this, if the moment wasn&#8217;t fulfilling.\u00a0 It was.\u00a0 But there&#8217;s more.\r\n\r\nWhile I do receive written and verbal acknowledgements and gratitude for my work, I&#8217;ve historically worked in a world where recognition is informal. That leaves me with <strong><em>self-recognition<\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0 Formal recognition is all too rare.\r\n\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_4310\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4310\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4310 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/chicagoexecutivecoaching.com\/smartleadership\/wp-content\/uploads\/coaching_certificate2.jpg\" alt=\"Coaching Certificate\" width=\"300\" height=\"246\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chicagoexecutivecoaching.com\/smartleadership\/wp-content\/uploads\/coaching_certificate2.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chicagoexecutivecoaching.com\/smartleadership\/wp-content\/uploads\/coaching_certificate2-150x123.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4310\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Suitable for Framing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n\r\nThis <strong>Coaching Certification<\/strong> entitles me to place three letters after my name: <strong>CBC<\/strong>.\u00a0 But since I&#8217;m such <a title=\"Digesting Acronym Alphabet Soup\" href=\"https:\/\/chicagoexecutivecoaching.com\/smartleadership\/acronym-ambiguity\/\">an <strong>acronym policeman<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0 I probably won&#8217;t.\u00a0 That&#8217;s not my <em>why<\/em>.\r\n<h3>For The Record<\/h3>\r\nIn a <a title=\"Chicago Executive Coaching Featured in The Suit Magazine\" href=\"https:\/\/chicagoexecutivecoaching.com\/smartleadership\/chicago-executive-coaching-featured-in-the-suit-magazine\/\">2013 interview with The Suit Magazine<\/a> on <strong><em>The Evolution of Coaching<\/em><\/strong>, I made some diminishing comments about the true value of some coaching certification processes. So it might be surprise some to learn that I decided to pursue it.\r\n\r\nBeyond the bragging in this post, my ultimate intent is to <strong>move you<\/strong> to discover and pursue something that is important to <strong>you<\/strong>.\r\n<h3>My &#8220;WHY&#8221;
