\u201c<strong><em>Lip Service<\/em><\/strong>\u201d means. \u00a0We\u2019ve all been guilty of\u00a0<em>serving<\/em>\u00a0it up. And we\u2019ve all experienced the frustration that comes with\u00a0being\u00a0\u201cserved\u201d.<\/p><p>If you\u00a0really understood what\u00a0<strong>Lip Service<\/strong>\u00a0can do to both your reputation and personal power, you\u2019d avoid\u00a0<em>serving it up<\/em>\u00a0at all costs.<\/p><p>Hopefully, I can help. Let\u2019s take a closer look.<\/p><p><strong>What is it?<\/strong><\/p><p>Here\u00a0are<a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbandictionary.com\/define.php?term=lip%20service&amp;utm_source=search-action\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Urban Dictionary<\/a>\u2018s definitions:<\/p><ol><li><em>To just say something but not actually do it.<\/em><\/li><li><em>To pretend that you believe a certain thing but not practice that belief.<\/em><\/li><\/ol><p>Simply stated,\u00a0<em><strong>actions speak louder than words<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0When you\u2019re serving up<em>\u00a0<strong>lip service<\/strong><\/em>, you\u2019re really offering no service at all.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49de44e e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"49de44e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-26cb49c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"26cb49c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Your Personal Integrity\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f2d406f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f2d406f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Ask yourself:<\/strong><\/p><h4><strong>Do I\u00a0consider myself a person of integrity?<\/strong><\/h4><p>Most of us would quickly answer \u201cyes\u201d. \u00a0 But what\u2019s your reality? \u00a0Do you keep 100% of the promises you make to others? \u00a0How often do you fall short? Have you developed a habit of making promises you\u2019re unable to keep?<\/p><p>So, let\u2019s tweak\u00a0that first question: \u00a0<strong>Can you\u00a0<em>really<\/em>\u00a0consider yourself a person of integrity?<\/strong><\/p><p>If you\u2019re habitually falling short of delivering on your promises,\u00a0you\u2019re a person of integrity all right: low integrity. \u00a0 In the minds of others, you\u2019re full of __________.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f050745 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Who are the people you know who promise you anything and deliver nearly nothing? \u00a0To what degree do you:<\/p><ul><li>Trust them?<\/li><li>Rely on them?<\/li><li>Respect them as leaders?<\/li><li>Want them on your team?<\/li><\/ul><p>When you receive their lip service instead of realistic promises, how do you feel?<\/p><p>So, why would\u00a0<strong>you<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>ever<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0want to deliver\u00a0<strong>lip service<\/strong>?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eb4cf2e e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"eb4cf2e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-418c344 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"418c344\" elementor-size-default\">Why Lip Service?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9bf8ff0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9bf8ff0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Here are some\u00a0primary\u00a0reasons.<\/p><ul><li>You temporarily avoid\u00a0uncomfortable moments that come with saying either \u201cno\u201d or \u201cI\u2019can\u2019t\u201d. \u00a0 Note the word \u201c<em>temporarily<\/em>\u201c<\/li><li>You are overcome by optimism that blinds you to the reality of what is really possible.<\/li><li>You\u2019re a skilled, yet habitual embellish-er (or liar)<\/li><\/ul><p>Are any of these valid if you value your integrity?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f1f72e7 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"f1f72e7\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fd0dc82 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"fd0dc82\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Irreparable Damage?\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-76d07c1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"76d07c1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>If you\u2019re inclined to become a person of high integrity, lip service needs to stop. \u00a0As you\u2019re about to make a promise, avoid shooting yourself in the foot. \u00a0Ask yourself three\u00a0questions:<\/p><ol><li>Am I about to\u00a0<strong>over promise<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>under deliver<\/strong>?<\/li><li>Or, can I find a way to\u00a0<strong>under promise<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>over deliver<\/strong>?<\/li><li>If I choose #1, how will that effect my\u00a0reputation?<\/li><\/ol><p>As\u00a0you begin to make option #2\u00a0a regular, conscious choice, you\u2019re on the way to rebuilding your reputation as a person of\u00a0<strong><em>high<\/em>\u00a0integrity<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1daf4ae e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"1daf4ae\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c1a6bb8 elementor-widget
